PHOTOFAIR 2009
In 2009 14-th «Saint-Petersburg Photofair» was held in two stages:

Saint-Petersburg PHOTO VERNISSAGE part was held from 24th of September till 3rd of October. Exposition named «MAN. Life Circulations» included 2 sections: retrospective and modern, and had more than 1000 works of Russian and foreign photographers. More

From 15th till 18th October worked «SAINT-PETERSBURG PHOTOFAIR», which included not only exhibition of modern phototechnics, but also wide seminar program, festivals, demonstrative photoshooting, collective exhibitions.

Despite crisis Saint-Petersburg exhibition managed to hold it’s main brand participants and even to add new participants.

Range of professional equipment was extended this year, besides regular participants Bowens, Sinar, Bronicolor, Foba, Lee Filters, Manfrotto, Cokin, B+W, Hensel, Profoto, for the first time Hasselblad company took part in Russian exhibition. Hasselblad is one of the most authoritative companies in the world, which produce professional photo equipment. Company presented it’s new camera Hasselblad H3DII-60, and Phase One company showed 645DF camera. Among new exhibitors also presented German company Dedotec, with professional lightning equipment and accessories.

Among the participants of technical section of this year: ABBYY, AQUA PHOTO STUDIO, B+W, BENRO, BERNULLY/HEWLETT PACKARD, BOWENS, CANON, COKIN, COREL, CPS, DEDOTEC, FOTO-ONE, GRANDIS, HASSELBLAD, HENSEL, HOFMANN/EUROCOLOR, HORSEMAN, INKSYSTEM, LASTOLITE, LOMOND, MAGIX, MANFROTTO, MEADE, NERO, NIKON, PENTAX, PHOTOSALE.RU, POCKETWIZARD SUPPORT, REKAM, RODENSTOCK, ROLAND, SYMANTEC, SINAR BRON FOBA, SONY, TALLANN, TAMRON, THINK TANK PHOTO, Y-STUDIO, ALTERNATIVA, ONLINE TRADE, POISK-FOTO, SIVMA, SIDOSE, TRUMEN, FOTODOM.BY, FOTOLUX, YARKIY MIR, etc.

Seminars by the following companies took place during the exhibition: CANON, COREL, HASSELBLAD, DEDOTEC, LOMOND, PENTAX, PHASE ONE, REKAM, SONY and master-classes by: Jens Haugen (Norway), Benny Buchtrup (Denmark), Marek Czarnecki (Poland), Leonid Pridorogin, Sergey Romanov, Denis Shiglovskiy, Alexander Korobov, Eduard Craft, Yuri Molotkovets, Anatoly Bisimbaev, Alexander Nasonov, Georgy Kurgin, Pavel Grinvald (Russia) etc.

For the first time at exhibition territory was built original test-studio, where convergence of computer and photo technologies was shown to the public. The special attention has been given to image post-processing. CPS company, which supervised the test-studio work, and Corel, Magix, Nero companies had shown the wide range of photo editing tools.

From the premier photographic projects shown at the exhibition, undoubtedly the most interesting was «Modern history in collages». This exposition continued the tradition to show political photo in non-traditional and undress form. Here one could see creations in political satire genre by Andrey Dorofeev, main artist of weekly newspaper «Arguments and facts».

For the first time the Festival of National photography was held in an unusual way. In honour of anniversary (1000 year of Grand Duchy of Lithuania) the Festival of National Photography had been declared this year – the year of Lithuanian photography. Present expositions, devoted to such significant date, was arranged by the St.Petersburg Lithuanian center of culture with direct participation of General Consulate of Lithuania in Saint-Petersburg.

In 2009 all lomographic world celebrated 25th anniversary of legendary LOMO Kompakt photocamera, which gave birth to lomographic movement. Admirers and people who are not familiar with this creative movement had an opportunity to join it at Saint-Petersburg Photofair.

Festival of a professional photo MASTER-2009 and non-stop demonstration shooting was a vivid part of PhotoFair.

The final photo expositions of «My Canon» and «Pulse of Petersburg» contests were shown with the solemn rewarding of winners.
